We recently spent a fantastic weekend in Nashville. The main reason for the visit was an Ed Sheeran concert at Nissan Stadium but we also wanted to eat good food. Since we were looking for a place to get some food and drinks before the concert that was within walking distance. After a bit of research, we came across Pinewood Social and knew that was the place. Pinewood Social Nashville is a one-of-kind restaurant, bar, and coffee shop with recreational activities.
Activities
Pinewood social is quite unique since it has a bowling alley, 2 pools, and bocce ball court.
Outside there are two four-foot deep dipping pools with lounge chairs and seating around them. There is also a retro 30-foot Airstream bar where the cocktails and bites are prepped. The pool menu has food options like tacos, a Cuban sandwich, and a poolside salad. Drinks in the pool area range from cocktails to beer to wine. You will need to be 21 or older to hang by the pools. Wanting to go for a dip but forgot to bring your towel? No problem, they have some available there for rent or purchase.
The bocce ball court and outdoor patio area, are open to all ages. There’s plenty of lounging furniture and a ping pong table.
The indoor 6 lane bowling alley is a great place to celebrate a special occasion or just have a bit of fun. While we were there, a family was celebrating an 80th birthday. It was fun to watch this group with folks of all ages enjoy themselves. Each lane accommodates up to 8 people; shoes and balls included.
Unfortunately, we did not partake in any of Pinewood Social’s activities this time around since we were on a tight schedule.
Food and Drinks
Our reservation was for 5:15 and we were seated a soon as we arrived. The space is very industrial yet comfortable and seems to seat quite a few.
We started our evening with a few cocktails and a couple appetizers: the chips and dip, the crispy brussel sprouts and the hummus. To our surprise, they offered us refills on both the chips and the pita bread. I can’t say that I’ve been to many restaurants where they bring you chips until you have consumed all the dip, but I like it. Their cocktail menu changes seasonally so, these might not currently available, but we had a Bramblin’ Man and a Chamomile Sour. Both were excellent!
Eventually we ordered some more food and it was fantastic. We were there with friends and between all of us we ordered some cheeseburgers, a BLT+A, and a grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was very tasty and made with good quality ingredients. Rumor has it that their fried chicken is very good. Since we had been to Hattie B’s for lunch that day, we opted for something else.
After a few more fantastic cocktails, we made our way to the Nissan Stadium. It was just a quick walk over via the pedestrian bridge. To top it off, we were treated to great views of Nashville’s downtown all lit up.
With great food, unique cocktails and fun activity options, it certainly has something for everyone. Next time we find ourselves in Nashville, we will definitely be returning to the Pinewood Social.
Before heading there, to not be disappointed, make a reservation!
