Truth be told, I learned about Jam Café Vancouver from a comedian that I follow on Instagram. But, if you do a quick search for best breakfast in Vancouver, Jam Café is on every list. TripAdvisor even has it rated as the #2 out of 3,090 restaurants in Vancouver and #1 for breakfast spots. It has the best eggs Benedict we have ever had.
It’s a very popular restaurant. We arrived there around 7:40 on a Saturday morning and there were already a dozen people in line. As we waited, the line just kept growing. At 8 am sharp, they opened their doors. It only took a few minutes for us to be seated. The restaurant isn’t very big, it seats less than 50 people.
The menu
There were several menu items that seemed appealing. We decided to share an order of avocado toast and ordered the Old Town Breakfast and Blackstone Benedict. Since everyone was seated and ordered around the same time, our food did take a little while to come out.
The Specialty Toast, their version of avocado toast, arrived first. The bread was fresh and the avocado tasty, nothing fancy, but very good. A few minutes later, our breakfast arrived. The food was delicious and the portions were pretty big for the price. The Blackstone Benedict was particularly tasty. The hollandaise sauce was so bright and probably the best that I’ve ever had and the eggs perfectly poached.
The folks at the table beside us ordered the fried chicken Benedict and French Toast. They looked really good as well. We did see the red velvet pancakes and they were huge and I suspect delicious.
As we left, the lineup was just as long, if not longer than when we walked in.
Jam Café is open 8 am to 3 pm daily. They both an all-day breakfast and an all-day lunch menu.
If we lived in the area, Jam Café Vancouver would definitely be our go-to brunch spot. If you are planning to be in Vancouver, this is a must try. Also, it’s the perfect spot to stop by either before or after your visit to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.
