Calgarians have been enjoying breakfast at OEB since 2009. They are farm to table focused that offers well made breakfast classics with a modern twist. It all started with a very popular, single location on Edmonton Trail. Now, they have locations in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Scottsdale and Vancouver.
It is not very often that we take time, while we are at home, to go for breakfast but we recently decided to check out the OEB in Mission in Calgary. We have been to their downtown Calgary location quite a few times, but it was our first time at this location.
The Menu
Since they are open from early morning to afternoon, their menu is focused on breakfast and lunch foods.
They offer some of the more traditional breakfast foods like omelets, eggs benedict to the less traditional Breakfast poutines. All of their poutines start with a bed of duck fat field potatoes, with 2 poached eggs and topped with brown butter hollandaise. The other ingredients will vary based on the combination selected. The poutine pictured at the top is the “Get Shorty Rib Poutine” which has Philly-style beef short-rib, bell peppers, red onions and mushrooms. It’s a delicious choice.
Also, they have sweeter options like waffles and French toast. Their “Banana Cream Pie” French Toast did sound outstanding, but a little sweeter than I was in the mood for. Maybe next time.
And, if you’re looking for a sandwich or a burger, you’re in luck, they have those too.
On a recent trip to Vancouver we noticed that a location had opened on in Yaletown. The location is fantastic. Not only do they have a patio, they also have a great view of the harbor (name of harbor).
Finally, before leaving don’t forget to pick up a basket of their fresh free run farm eggs.
